14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has recently published the RTM versions of Windows 8.1 on MSDN and TechNet, thus making it available for developers who want to get their apps ready for the new OS version.
The company initially announced that all users would get the ISOs at the same time in October, but it turns out that someone within Microsoft had a change of heart and decided to roll them out a lot sooner.
Neowin is reporting that the decision to make 8.1 RTM available to subscribers came after several disputes inside the company, as some top executives wanted to delay the launch until October, while developers pushed for an earlier release.
One of the reasons why Microsoft was believed to be delaying Windows 8.1 RTM was its desire to continue work on the operating system, as the company promised a bug-free experience to all users.
At this point, the official ISOs have already been downloaded by more than 2 million people, so 8.1 is very likely to perform much better than the core operating system it updates.
