Apps aren’t loading on some Windows 8.1 Preview computers, user complain

It turns out that some users cannot launch the Windows Store after deploying Windows 8.1 Preview, while others are claiming that the displayed apps aren’t loading at all.

According to the first reports posted on Microsoft’s community forums, Internet connections are up and running on the affected computers, so it’s most likely a software issue affecting only a limited number of computers.

“Same thing. Using fresh installation of the Windows 8.1 preview on x86 platform. Also noticed that native SkyDrive option page can't connect to SkyDrive as well. Internet connection is good and all updates are installed,” one user explains on the forums.

The software maker is expected to fix many, if not most of the bugs before the RTM version hits the market later this year. Sources familiar with the matter have revealed that Windows 8.1 is expected to go live in October, just ahead of the holiday season.
