Ballmer announced the internal Microsoft reorganization earlier today, revealing several major changes that are supposed to help the Redmond-based empire embrace the devices and services approach in the next couple of years.

At the same time, Steve Ballmer confirms that Windows 8.1, Xbox One and Windows Phone will remain key products, while the company also tries to expand its offering in the hardware and services areas.

“Undoubtedly, as we involve more people there will be new issues and changes to our current thinking as well. Completing this process will take through the end of the calendar year as we figure things out and as we keep existing teams focused on current deliverables like Windows 8.1, Xbox One, Windows Phone, etc,” he explains in an internal memo sent to employees this morning.
