Microsoft has rolled out Windows 8.1 Preview ISOs for end-users a few days ago, but enterprises that are planning to give the new update a try have no other choice than to wait.

The Softies promised to release the 8.1 Preview ISOs aimed at enterprises in the next few weeks, but reminded everyone that the update should not be deployed on critical computers.

“Remember that Windows 8.1 is still in development, and as such there is always some risk involved when using it, so testing on lab and other non-critical computers is recommended. For broad deployments we recommend that you target final Windows 8.1 release later this year,” it said.

At the same time, Microsoft has also announced a new set of tools specifically designed for enterprises planning to migrate to Windows 8.1, including the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit, the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013 Preview and the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager R2 Preview.
