Windows 8.1 will pack quite a lot of improvements, including a redesigned Metro Control Panel that’s supposed to make everything easier to use for beginners too.

As you can see in this screenshot posted by WinBeta, the PC Settings menu now displays a so-called “Top settings” section that lets you easily access options concerning the lock screen, account picture, and picture password.

In addition, the same menu displays screen and sleep configuration options, just to make sure you don’t need to browse through each category to set up the computer.

Some other changes are also expected to be introduced before the RTM version of the operating system hits the market later this year, but expect more information on the redesigned Metro Control Panel to be unveiled this month at the BUILD developer conference.
