Microsoft continues work on the RTM version of Windows 8.1, so a new version of the operating system is now being tested by partners across the world.

The screenshot posted by PCBeta shows what seems to be Windows 8.1 build 9477, another version of the OS update that’s supposed to be more stable and a bit faster than previous releases.

While no details are available for the time being, this photo confirms that we’re getting closer to RTM, the stable build of the operating system that’s expected to be announced later this month.

As far as general availability is concerned, Microsoft has recently confirmed that Windows 8.1 is set to be unveiled on October 18. 8.1 will be offered as a free update from the Store for all Windows 8 users.
