We’re only days away from the public debut of Windows 8.1 RTM, so it’s no surprise that new builds of the first Windows 8 update get leaked and reach the web.

An official ISO with Windows 8.1 build 9471 has been published on several file-sharing services out there only a few minutes ago, thus giving users the chance to try out the operating system before the public debut.

While consumers are still recommended to wait until the official build goes live, many will rush to install it, as it most likely brings several improvements over the preview version rolled out in late June.

As for the launch date, Microsoft has already confirmed that Windows 8.1 is set to hit RTM sometime this month, while general availability should be announced shortly after that. Voices familiar with the matter have hinted that end users could get the OS update in approximately two weeks after RTM.
