A new build of Windows 8.1, the first major Windows 8 upgrade due this summer, is currently being tested by developers and Microsoft partners, according to a new set of leaked screenshots.

Windows 8.1 build 9379 has already been sent to select testers, so expect the ISOs to be leaked soon as well, which means that users could also give it a shot and see what’s new in this new release.

While there are no details regarding the improvements brought by this build, we can all see that no Start button has been implemented, so Microsoft will most likely introduce this feature in the final public beta expected to be released at the BUILD developer conference in late June.

As for the public debut, Microsoft is believed to be pondering an August or a September launch, approximately two months after the unveiling of the aforementioned beta.
