14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is extending a promotional offer which offers the latest versions of Windows and Office to customers at a discount until the end of 2010, provided that they upgrade from an older version of the Windows client or the productivity suite. The 50% Off Up-To-Date (UTD) Discount Extended is available only through an Open Value Subscription which can be accessed from Microsoft partners.
And just to be clear from the get go, the P discount is not on the full price of Windows 7 and Office 2010, but on the amount of money that customers have to pay during the first year of the Open Value Subscription.
“This promotion was originally slated to come to an end back in July of 2010; however, with all of the fantastic excitement around it, we extended the promotion to run through the month of September,” explained Eric Ligman, Global Partner Experience Lead Microsoft Worldwide Partner Group.
“Well, since September is now behind us (hard to believe how fast the year is going, isn’t it?), a question that I’ve been getting is, “So is it too late to still use the N-2 promotion?” I am happy to let all of you know that we are continuing this offer throughout the remainder of 2010!”
Customers upgrading need to move to Windows 7 Professional and Office Professional Plus 2010 with an Open Value Subscription.
However, they don’t need to already have an Open Value Subscription. “If they have OEM, Retail box, or Volume Licenses of any of the qualifying versions listed above, then they can participate in this promotion,” Ligman stated.
Just to better explain how the promotion works, the UTD discount applies in the first year, which means that new customers will pay only $82 instead of $163 for a copy of Office 2010 Professional Plus and only $32 instead of $63 for Windows 7 Professional in the first year of the Open Value Subscription.
