Windows 7 Release Candidate Build 7100 is now available for public download straight from Microsoft. In parallel, users can also access Windows Server 2008 R2 RC, which went live concomitantly with the client flavor of Windows 7. Together with the actual bits for Windows 7, Microsoft is also providing product keys designed to activate the operating system. The Redmond company is offering a fixed set of keys that can be used to activate an unlimited number of Windows 7 Release Candidate installations. You will be able to find the complete collection of Windows 7 activation product keys at the bottom of this article.

If you're up for the task, you can also grab them yourselves. Just visit the official Windows 7 RC download page, scroll down, select to download the Build 7100 bits in a specific language, sign in with your Windows Live ID and get one product key. Repeat the process to grab additional items. Or simply leverage the keys offered bellow, as you can use them to activate both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 7. Windows Server 2008 R2 RC is available for download here, along with the product keys.

“Please plan ahead for Windows 7 Beta and Windows 7 RC expiration dates. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to rebuild your test machine using a genuine version of Windows 7 before the software expires. Windows will remind you when the expiration process is beginning; two weeks after this notification your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows 7 Beta expires on August 1, 2009, and bi-hourly shutdowns will begin July 1, 2009. Windows 7 RC will expire June 1, 2010, and the bi-hourly shutdowns will begin on March 1, 2010,” Stephen L Rose, Sr. community manager, Windows IT Pro Client, revealed.

I am liking Windows7 even more. The only issue I have is a laggy mouse but other than that, no problems "YET". The interface is straight forward, runs way faster than Vista on my machine, using 32 bit, DOH! wish I would have downloaded the 64, still can but nah, it's only for testing anyway. I don't care who says, "It's still Vista". No it's not. It looks better, runs better and while monitoring my resources is using far less than Vista did. So far, even though I still like XP pro and clinging to it with nails embedded, I am willing so far to let go for Win7. I didn't worry about my graphics card, printer, NOTHING, everything works right off the bat and installs the driver updates automatically. Very nice. I like the search and while I don't recall if Vista'ssearch was like Win7, but this is right on the money, quick, etc...

"Note: Yes, I am praising Windows, take a good look because this won't and hasn't happened often but I am thus far liking Win7"

This is the first time ive even considered upgrading from xp pro 64. I have yet to finish the download but i cant wait. I was really impressed with M$ delivery method. Not even utorrent can compete with the speeds im getting. BRAVO!!!

This is more stable and better than Leopard OS X. I'll stick to Windows 7 for now ;-)

Absolute bollocks, troll. Based on a rock-solid Unix kernel, Leopard OS X (now the fifth major release of the operating system and on its seventh service pack at 10.5.7) is rather more stable than this pre-release candidate for a Microsoft Windows non-server operating system?

Hey.

I got Windows 7 RC build 7100 32 bit
Three days ago when i booted my cpu i got a startup window that reminded me to validate my software. Tho i pushed ask me later.. a minute later i tried all the keys that are available for Windows 7 RC 32 bit. None of them works, ive really tried all of them and it still says that "The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of Windows 7". Tho when i check my system information it says that the edition expires August 1. What is wrong?

Comment #9 by: Marius Oiaga on 19 Oct 2009, 13:05 GMT reply to this comment

If it says August 1st, you have Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 and not RC Build 7100 - http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-Beta-Ready-to-Be-Killed-Off-112403.shtml.

Get a copy of Win7 RC and yu'll be able to use it until March 2010, and activate it with the product keys in the article above.

Thanks, for this! I had panicked quite a bit that my RC wanted to activate itself so badly. I had rearmed it three times already and only know I actually figured out that there were public keys... Thanks!
