It’s always a good idea to turn to the personalization content Microsoft is providing only in order to get new themes designed to customize the desktop of Windows 7 PCs. Via the Windows Personalization Gallery, the Redmond-based company is offering end users running the latest iteration of the Windows client two themes with spectacular imagery from Taiwan. Nenggao and Syue are two Taiwanese mountains for which the software giant is offering a couple of themes, available as free downloads.

Taiwan is one of the islands of the Republic of China (ROC), in East Asia along with Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, and other, smaller islands. The Nenggao mountain, located in central Taiwan, is the 60th highest peak in the country, at 3,349 m (10,988 ft). It is also the place where the picture at the top of this article and the first two at the end were taken. Nenggao’s Southern Peak is also the highest with the Main Peak and Northern Peak considerably smaller, at just 3,262 m (10,702 ft) and respectively 3,184 m (10,446 ft).

Syue is the second highest mountain in Taiwan, with its main peak at 3,886 m (12,749 ft). Also known as Snow Mountain, Syue Mountain is also referred to by additional names, including Hsuehshan and even Hsueh. The last two images at the end of the article feature content shot on Syue Mountain. Syue Mountain is located in the country’s Shei-Pa National Park.

The highest mountain in Taiwan is Yushan, also known as Jade Mountain or Mount Yu, which peaks at no less than 3,952 m. However, Microsoft doesn’t offer a Windows 7 theme for Yushan Mountain, and users will have to do with the theme packs for Nenggao and Syue.

Nenggao Mountain Windows 7 Theme is available for download here. Syue Mountain Windows 7 Theme is available for download here.
