It is finally here. Today Windows 7's life begins officially, and, considering the waves of consideration it has raked from computer experts all over the world, it is going to change the Windows experience among users. Furthermore, it will finally give Vista skeptics a reason to give up on Windows XP and head to a new and improved Windows.

Today's launch of Windows 7 seems to have spurred a lot of commotion on the web as software developers came prepared to expand their user database and spread their applications at any cost. Their cost, that is, because the end-user will receive full license keys for free. And not just any software, but the big dogs in the security field.

Kaspersky and Panda are officially part of the Windows 7 Launch Party
and will be giving away free one-year licenses for their Internet Security suites: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and Panda Internet Security 2010. Your part is to register for the promotion, download the trials and wait for the registration code to get to your inbox.

We have no word on the Kaspersky offer yet, but in the case of the Spanish security company things are crystal clear: you have a 24-hour window to get your $59.95 worth freebie. The promotion is already open to all users. Check out this page for details on the promotion and registration. The download will start automatically as soon as you click on the registration button, and by the end you complete all the necessary fields. We tried typing in only the email address and the “Thank You for Registering” appeared with no problems. Then again, we did the same test without entering a thing, to the same effect.

One of the downsides of this promotion is that the license key will not be sent on the spot and, just like the fine print at the bottom of the “Thank You” page said, “it may take up to 1-3 business days to receive your activation code.” We'll live and see.

In the case of Kaspersky things are not that clear. Their Shake It Up campaign to offer free one-year licenses for their Internet Security 2010 is not yet active. As there is no information on the time the event will begin at; all you can do is keep checking their page until you strike gold, or you can check this article for an update of the Russian anti-virus company going live with the giveaway offer.

UPDATE: Shake It Up campaign from Kaspersky is live, but the offer is valid only for attendees and hosts of Windows 7 launch parties. This means that if you have not registered to be in the party crowd or hosting such party, you won't benefit from the offer. The limitations of the offer go even further, as only 15 codes are available for each launch party. For the lucky ones the good news is that you can grab your license all through November 30.
