Only few users have actually decided to switch to Microsoft’s modern platforms last month

They say that newer is better, but it turns out that not the same thing can be said about operating systems. At least, not about those designed by Microsoft.

Net Applications revealed in November 2013 data that Windows 8.1 has indeed increased its market share, reaching 2.64 percent and going after Windows Vista to become the world’s fourth top operating system.

Windows 8.1 thus gained no less than 0.92 percent last month, while its predecessor Windows 8 dropped 0.87 percent before eventually settling at 6.66 percent.

As The Next Web writes, Microsoft’s modern platforms, including here Windows 8 and 8.1, have posted a combined increase of only 0.05 percent, which makes the new operating system less successful than many of the other versions still on the market.

For example, Windows 7 has posted an increase of 0.22 percent, growing from 46.42 percent to 46.64 percent, which does nothing more than to confirm once again that it remains the number one operating system on the market.
