Windows 7 Build 7600.16385 is reported to be the RTM version of the next generation of the Windows client. Reportedly, and I emphasize reportedly, the latest leak build of Windows 7 is also the final development milestone. Microsoft is, of course, not offering any official confirmation of the RTM of Windows 7, keeping mum on the platform's progress through the last yards of the development process. The only RTM update the Redmond company provided about Windows 7 was at the start of the past week, when, on July 13th, the software giant denied that it had signed off the successor of Windows Vista.
Having initially reported that Microsoft would release the next version of Windows to manufacturing on July 13th, Wzor is now pointing to July 17 as the date when Microsoft RTM'd Windows 7. Of course, this report needs to be taken with a grain of salt. As I have already said, the software giant is keeping mum on the RTM of Windows 7, having only stated that it would release the operating system to manufacturing in late July 2009.
Windows 7 Build 7600.16385, full build string 6.1.7600.16385.090713-1255, was compiled on July 13th, 2009, and has already leaked outside of Redmond. Various third-party sources are already offering the bits for download, but the leaked releases from torrent trackers and warez websites are reportedly put together with the Microsoft files and folders set, but are not the original builds from the company. Wzor has indicated that the Redmond company is planning to release the official, signed-off build of Windows 7 6.1.7600.16385.090713-1255 via Microsoft Connect later this week, on July 24th.
“There's a lot of talk on the Web and on Twitter that Windows 7 has hit the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) milestone. Just a note that no definitive word has been released on this. I'm sure that the crew will post something on the Windows 7 Team blog when the time comes. A word to the wise: be careful and don't download something from a less than trusted source. IMHO, getting a Windows 7 RTM build via a torrent is akin to what Forrest Gump says about a box of chocolates: You never know what you're gonna get,” Microsoft’s M3 Sweatt revealed.
Windows 7 Build 7600.16385 Is RTM, Reportedly
But take it with a grain of salt
