Microsoft was expected to begin the public rollout of the Windows 10 Spring Creators Update (also known as Redstone 4 or version 1803) on April 10, but as it turns out, the company decided to hold back the release for an unspecified number of days.

Very little is known at this point, especially because Microsoft itself has never confirmed the April 10 launch date for the Spring Creators Update, but cryptic messages posted online by people with knowledge of the matter seem to indicate that there’s indeed a delay hitting the new OS version.

Microsoft, however, published the very first cumulative update for the Spring Creators Update on April 10, fixing a bunch of bugs and addressing security flaws that also existed in other Windows 10 versions.

This cumulative update brings us one step closer to the public launch of the Spring Creators Update, though for the time being, it’s not exactly clear how long we’ll have to wait until the rollout begins.

Rollout to begin by the end of the month

Most likely, it would only take a few days before the release kicks off, but it’d be more interesting to find out why exactly Microsoft delayed the release of the new OS feature update. If it’s a last-minute bug, that could be more worrying for both users and the company itself, though by the looks of things, everything seems to be running quite smoothly on insider machines already powered by the Spring Creators Update.

The new OS version will be pushed to users in waves, which means that systems will get the update gradually. The rollout typically takes approximately three months to complete, so the delay shouldn’t have a substantial impact on the company’s release schedule.

Microsoft itself is expected to provide more information on the rollout of the Windows 10 Spring Creators Update very soon, as the first wave of systems should get the new feature release by the end of the month.
