Microsoft is getting ready to roll out a new technical preview build of Windows 10 for phones, but little is known about the features that could be part of this release. In this regard, leaks coming from China are pretty helpful for everyone trying to figure out how exactly the company is planning to improve the new OS.

A collection of screenshots allegedly showing Windows 10 for phones build 12531 have gotten leaked earlier today, revealing not only that Microsoft is close to releasing a new technical preview for users but also that many new features have already been developed and could be soon shipped to insiders.

First and foremost, the Windows 10 browser user agent has been updated with support for Android Webkit browser version 4.2.1, but as we all know, the new OS will come with Spartan as the default browser on both PCs and smartphones.

New features and visual tweaks

We already knew that Microsoft was working to add new payment systems to Windows 10, but it turns out that such features are already part of build 12531. Given the fact that these screenshots are not in English, little is known about their availability in the rest of the world, but it appears that Windows 10 for phones will come with its very own payment system.

The Photos app will also get several new options, including new image organizing and management options, while contact photo thumbnails across the operating system will now be rounded, as is the case on the desktop version of Windows 10.

Users will be able to change the name of the device from the OS information screen, while the settings menu now looks more like the one on the PC, with new flat icons and short descriptions below each section.

There is also a new contact manager, with the alphabetical index now placed in the center of the screen, probably to make it easier to find a specific person on the list. Social network contacts will also be added to this list, so you should be able to send them messages via dedicated apps straight from this list.

A new Windows 10 for phones preview is expected to debut sometime in early April, but nobody can tell for sure whether all these features can be part of it or not.
