Design concept imagines a new Start screen for Windows 10

The new Start screen that's available in Windows 10 build 9926 is more of a bigger version of the Start menu, and although some users might not like it, there's no doubt that this behavior is here to stay as it's part of the Continuum feature. Which Microsoft absolutely loves, that is.

And yet, the Start screen would really use some visual improvements, and while Microsoft is still working on them, designer Matthew Langdon already has an idea on what exactly the full-screen version of the Start menu should look like.

As you can see in his concept included in this article, the app list and the live tiles seem to get along very well in the Start screen and everything seems much more compact as compared to the version that's currently available in Windows 10 build 9926.

Transparency definitely plays a decisive role, and Microsoft knows it very well, so the real version of the Start screen, which is already part of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, is expected to get this particular option as well in the upcoming builds.

The company has already confirmed that it's working to add more visual tweaks to Windows 10, but they're all under development right now and should arrive in the next build shipped to Windows Insiders. Still, you can bet that the Start screen won't look like the one you see here.
