Designer envisions the UI of the upcoming Spartan app

Microsoft is expected to launch a new browser with Windows 10, that would be offered at first alongside Internet Explorer, but very little is known right now about this brand new application.

Codenamed Spartan, the new browser is expected to represent a completely new beginning for Microsoft in this particular software category where it has already lost the battle against Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

According to people close to the matter, Spartan is expected to debut in Windows 10 and a testing version of the browser could be released to users in a Technical Preview build coming out this spring.

In the meantime, however, designers across the world who cannot wait to see Spartan go live create their own concepts imagining the look and feel of the upcoming browser.

Light and dark themes for Spartan

This is the case of this concept created by FourthEchelon19, which not only that envisions what the new browser might actually look like but also imagines the way some of its features could be integrated into the main screen.

The two photos show that Cortana could be nicely integrated into the main screen of Spartan, and the designer claims that this could come in very handy when trying to perform some tasks such as searching the web without even touching the mouse or keyboard.

“It has Cortana as a built-in type, touch and hands-free feature, (think things like saying, ‘Hey, Cortana, bookmark this page’ or ‘Cortana, share this site with Joe Smith's Facebook’) as well as integrated notifications from tied-in accounts such as Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and so on,” he writes in the description of his concept.

More details on Wednesday

Microsoft will be holding a Windows 10 event on Wednesday to discuss improvements made to its operating system for consumers, and among the information that the company is planning to share there could also be some references to the new browser.

Spartan is currently in development stage and a lot could change until the final product sees daylight, so don't take any details for granted unless Microsoft provides them.
