Microsoft is looking into ways to update the TP more often

Microsoft promised during its January 21 Windows 10 event at its headquarters in Redmond that it would try to bring new builds of the Technical Preview to insiders at a much faster pace, but up until now, the company has seemed to break on that promise, as it struggles to fix bugs and critical issues in the newly compiled builds.

It's no secret that Microsoft has had to deal with waves of criticism lately, mostly because the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview build was launched in late January, but information that reached the web “accidentally” seems to indicate that the company is working to address this problem.

A recent post that showed up in the Insider Hub app available on Windows 10 suggested that Microsoft was working to release a new update channel for Windows testers that would allow them to get new builds every single day.

Microsoft compiles new builds internally every day, so Windows insiders would pretty much get the chance to run the exact same versions that company employees who are trying to track down bugs before a more stable build is released to the public do.

“Just an internal announcement”

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, said in follow-up tweet that this was just an internal announcement that was supposed to reach company employees only, but he, however, confirmed that a new channel that would provide faster access to new builds was indeed considered.

“We’re debating right now about whether we should simply adjust the speed/risk balance of the Fast ring or whether we should create a new ring for people who really want the fastest pace possible (I had serious conversations last week with my team about a ‘Ludicrous Speed’ ring, no joke.) As we make decisions on this we’ll communicate out to you so you know what to expect,” Aul said.

A new Windows 10 build is expected to be released anytime these days and Microsoft says that only a single bug is holding back the launch, so keep your eyes on the news to find out when it becomes available.
