Microsoft launched several feedback platforms together with Windows 10 in order to make sure that users send their requests to the company and thus help improve the final version of the operating system, so reading some of these suggestions makes it really easy to see how consumers want the upcoming product to work and feel.

In general, the majority of users expects Microsoft to implement more customization options in Windows 10, a thing that would pretty much enable them to make the operating system work and look just the way they want.

One of the most requested features right now is the possibility of customizing the look of the login screen in Windows 10, a feature that was already implemented in Windows 7 with the help of third-party applications.

This particular submission already has more than 9,000 votes on the Windows UserVoice feedback platform and is gaining more fans at a really fast pace.

Third-party apps could come to the rescue

If Microsoft does not implement such a feature in Windows 10, there’s still hope that users could change the login screen design with the help of third-party apps.

Of course, it’s too early to discuss about such a tool at this point, but Windows 7 went through pretty much the same hurdle with no dedicated option available in this regard.

And still, there were lots of software solutions out there which could help users tweak the interface of the login screen, among which wallpaper changers and other more advanced solutions that included a wide array of customization options.

Full focus on what users want in Windows 10

With Windows 10, Microsoft wants to build an operating system that’s specifically designed to address users’ needs, so many of the options that will be integrated into this version will actually be based on requests submitted through the standard feedback channels.

Obviously, the more votes, the bigger the chances to see these features integrated into Windows 10, but there’s no doubt that Microsoft also has its very own feature lineup for the operating system and some requests could actually be ignored in the final product.

Options to customize the login screen aren’t quite such a big deal and could be easily integrated if Microsoft really wants to offer more customization power. There’s always a second option and allow third-party app developers do it, but it all depends on how much freedom the company is willing to give to app makers.

In Windows 7 it was already possible with the help of small registry hacks, so why not offering Windows 10 users a much easier way to change their login screens?
