Microsoft rolled out a new version of Windows 10 Technical Preview last week, but it appears that the company is working on another build that could see daylight at the BUILD developer conference on Wednesday.

Rumors coming via Russian leaker WZor indicate that Microsoft is now working to finalize the development of Windows 10 Developer Preview, a new version of the Technical Preview that would be specifically addressed to developer and could include new features that were not introduced in the previous releases for Windows insiders.

Details are not available right now, but it’s believed that this Developer Preview could be presented by Microsoft’s executives at BUILD in San Francisco, whereas the public launch for developers (and Windows insiders) could happen next week.

Windows 10 is “almost” ready

If we are to trust existing speculation, Windows 10 might already be ready, and Microsoft is now preparing to start work on the very first update for this new operating system that could see daylight in late 2015.

According to Microsoft’s executives, Windows 10 is expected to launch in the summer, but the company hasn’t yet provided a specific release date, as a number of features are still in development as we speak.

And yet, it appears that the plan might be to bring Windows 10 out as fast as possible and use the update scheduled for late 2015 to bring any new features whose development is completed after its public launch, meaning that the first Windows 10 update could indeed be a pretty major release.

Needless to say, that might be a little surprising, given the fact that Microsoft itself considers Windows 10 a game changer, so launching it without some features could be a critical mistake, but remember that these are all just rumors for now and nobody knows for sure whether the company is indeed planning to hold back certain features for Update 1 or not.
