Microsoft has released a new version of Windows 10

Windows 10 build 10122 is now available for download, so users who registered for the Windows Insider program can try out the latest features expected to be part of the final version of the operating system coming this summer.

Just like the previous builds, this new release is shipped via Windows Update, so insiders don't need to do anything else than check for updates and install the new build. Everything is performed automatically, so no user input is required.

Windows 10 build 10122 is released only for users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program, so in case you want to stick to the slow ring, you need to wait a little bit longer until Microsoft makes it available for this channel too.

This usually happens when Microsoft manages to fix the most critical bugs and issues found in the original build, but the company cannot provide a release date for now.

Another important thing is that this release does not come with new ISOs because Microsoft only makes these available when a build is ready for the slow ring.

The last build of Windows 10 preview?

Rumors swirling around the web these days claim that this could be the last Windows 10 preview before RTM, but information offered by Microsoft itself recently indicated that more builds would actually be released in the coming weeks.

In fact, Microsoft has even promised to update Windows 10 preview at a much faster pace, and at some point, it considered rolling out a new ring for insiders that would provide them with daily builds, but for the moment, it seems like these plans have been abandoned.

Windows 10 is projected to reach RTM in the summer, while the official launch should take place shortly after that. If existing speculation is true, RTM should be reached in June, while general availability should be announced in August.
