A new build has hit the web via unofficial channels

Nearly two months have passed since Microsoft released the latest Windows 10 build, but luckily, users can now get a brand new version of the upcoming operating system from the usual unofficial channels that have also brought us a bunch of leaks in the last few months.

While we won't provide any download links for Windows 10 build 10036, Windows Insiders shouldn't have too much trouble finding them if they know where to look, and there is no doubt that quite a lot of users will give this version a try in the coming days.

Right now, it's not yet clear whether build 10036 is the one that Microsoft planned to release as part of the Windows Insider program, but more information should be provided next week, when the company is actually expected to release a fresh build.

Some features missing

There is something that you should take into account when thinking about downloading and installing Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10036.

First and foremost, this is an unofficial release, so Microsoft doesn't offer any kind of support for it. This means that, in case you have any sort of problem with build 10036, you can contact Microsoft but you will most likely get no answer because the software giant only addresses problems in official releases.

Second, some features that you might expect to get in build 10036 are missing. For example, this particular build does come with Start menu and Start screen transparency, revamped Task view options, and a bunch of other small improvements, but Spartan is still missing for the time being.

There's also a reason for this. Build 10036 is part of Microsoft's partner channel, so the leak we have today is most likely coming from a company working closely with the software giant. Since Microsoft more or less expected the leak to happen, it removed some key features on purpose, thus trying to make sure that a full experience would only be possible through the official release.

In the meantime, if you decide to install build 10036, make sure you do it in a virtual machine because, just as always, bugs are something very likely to happen.

Update: here are more details about the new features and screenshots of Windows 10 build 10036.
