Microsoft is expected to launch a new Windows 10 Technical Preview build anytime soon, and it turns out that the company has recently compiled a new version that’s very likely to be the one prepared for Windows Insiders too.

Windows 10 build 10031 comes with minor improvements, but there’s at least one thing that would really please many of those who have already installed the Technical Preview.

Both the Start menu and the Start screen now come with transparency, a feature that was requested by users ever since the first Windows 10 build came out in early October and confirmed by Microsoft in January.

Redmond previously said that adding transparency to the Start menu and the Start screen was one of the features they were working on and it appears that development on this one has already been completed.

Expect the release in just a few days

Microsoft hasn’t provided any release dates for the new Windows 10 Technical Preview build, but according to our sources, the launch is very likely to take place this week.

The company has already confirmed that we’re getting closer to the release of a new build, and given the fact that Windows 10 for phones is also expected to get a new preview build later this month, it makes sense to launch the PC version this week.

Just like the previous builds, the new one will be shipped through the built-in update system, so minimal user input would be required. Dedicated ISOs will also be offered to those who want to do a clean install.

In addition to Start menu transparency, the new version of Windows 10 would also feature the very first testing build of Spartan, the new browser that’ll replace Internet Explorer in the upcoming operating system.

Work on Spartan is still in its early days, but Microsoft wants to provide users with a quick look at the browser, as it also needs to collect feedback on the app and improve certain features.
