With Windows 10, Microsoft is trying to address many of the annoyances in Windows 8, so the new operating system will not only bring back traditional and very popular features, but will also try to better tackle user needs with the help of feedback platforms.

With this in mind, it appears that Microsoft is heading in the right direction, Dell says, explaining that company customers have already expressed their interest in the new operating system.

In a statement for ComputerWorld, Neil Hand, vice president of tablets at Dell, explained that features implemented in Windows 10 that would allow users to launch applications on multiple devices running this operating system could gain the attention of quite a lot of potential buyers, especially in the enterprise business.

“The ability to create applications that are super-scalable from phone to tablet to PC is the big step in a lot of ways,” Hand said.

Windows 8, just a transition OS

Dell, which is actually one of the key Microsoft partners, also launched Windows 8 products, even though adoption of this particular operating system wasn't really meeting expectations.

But the company now looks forward to Windows 10, explaining that Windows 8 was most likely just an operating system that served as a transition platform to a new platform that comes with everything users would want, no matter the device.

Obviously, adoption figures are those who are the most important, Hand explains, so the very first months on the market for Windows 10 are critical for the upcoming product.

According to sources, Windows 10 is expected to launch in spring 2015 with versions not only for desktops, but also for tablets and smartphones

Previews already available for download

Microsoft adopted a completely new strategy for Windows 10, inviting users to participate in the development process and make feature suggestions that would help improve the final product.

This is already happening thanks to approximately 1 million users who registered for the Windows Insider Program, as Microsoft says that the feedback collecting efforts are going really well right now.

Needless to say, many more users downloaded and installed Windows 10 Technical Preview on their PCs, mostly because they wanted to see what was new in the operating system, but many are also submitting feedback and suggestions to improve the operating system, so Microsoft shoot two birds with one stone.

More improvements are expected in the upcoming updates for Windows 10 Technical Preview, including windows animations and a more advanced notification center.
