All-in-One systems may be far more expensive than regular desktops, but their compactness and feature sets can be worthwhile, especially when they come with 3D support and touch input, as is the case with MSI's Wind top AE2420.

All-in-One systems may in multiple shapes, sizes and performance levels, but there are some that make a point of packing as wide and impressive a feature set as possible.

MSI's Wind Top AE2420 can be seen as one of these machines, as it has both a large number of convenience features as well as powerful hardware on the inside.

At the heart of it all lies an Intel Core i7-860 central processing unit, which has a clock speed of 2.8 GHz.

This CPU is backed up by 4GB of RAM and is paired with the ATI Radeon HD 5730 video card, which has 1GB of dedicated memory and, of course, support for DirectX 11.

The display has a diagonal of 24 inches and a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, basically making it more than suited for Full HD video playback.

Nevertheless, this is not all that makes it interesting, because the panel can also display in 3D mode and is even equipped with touch input support.

Other specifications include a hard disk drive of 1TB, a DVD writer or Blu-ray drive, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 6-in-1 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet and even two USB 3.0 ports.

Finally, the entire configuration is powered by a 180W power supply and delivers sound by means of 2.1 channel surround sound-capable 5W speakers and 10W subwoofer.

“Most people don’t realize that MSI has been making the guts of PCs for more than 20 years, and we were the first to launch the 10 inch netbook, which is now the most popular form factor on the market,” said Andy Tung, vice president of sales, MSI US.

“By bringing the world’s first 3D all-in-one PC to North America, MSI is continuing to introduce people to the future of computing,” Tung added.

The MSI Wind Top AE2420 has a starting price of 'only' $1,799 and is loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit operating system.
