14 DAY TRIAL // Winamp for Android, the mobile application that arrived on handsets running under Google's mobile operating system only recently, has been updated with a series of fixes and enhancements, so as to enhance the experience that users receive from the application. Android users can now download Winamp 1.0.2 from the Android Market, with the said patches inside, the company announced via a recent blog post.
Due to a series of issues related to SHOUTcast streaming that emerged on various handsets, the SHOUTcast feature has been temporarily replaced with a “History” feature in the initial release of the app, but the blacklisting has been removed in the new flavor.
“Our goal was to blacklist the SHOUTcast feature on those devices where the playback issue had been identified,” the company explains.
“Unfortunately, we cast the net too wide and this inadvertently removed SHOUTcast for users who had not experienced any playback issues. So for now, we've removed the blacklisting even though SHOUTcast is still not supported on all devices.”
The company is currently working on the building of native SHOUTcast streaming in the Winamp for Android app, so that the playback experience users receive from their app is improved.
However, the company notes that those users who are still experiencing issues with SHOUTcast streaming on a wireless network should try the feature over a Wi-Fi connection.
Some of the other enhancements the new app version comes with include
SHOUTcast "My Favorite Stations" We fixed an issue preventing playback from "My Favorite Stations" in SHOUTcast.

The latest version of Winamp for Android (1.0.2) includes an updated Terms of Service in the About section.
The application comes with Shuffle & Repeat option, available on the Now Playing screen. To access them, users would just have to tap the screen first, and the additional options would be unveiled.
