A new release candidate is currently available for WinSCP. The latest version is 5.0.9 and it brings to the table stability and functional improvements.

Changes in this release refer to saving passwords by default, unless it is modified, when saving the current session over the original one without displaying the dialog for overwrite.

If the FTP connection requires a password, the user is immediately prompted, without reconnecting. Furthermore, the session log in this build includes all script console output, local errors too.

Fixes are also on the list and they address problems such as ad-hoc sessions being added to the jump list (Windows 7), tray icon not being restored after restarting Windows Explorer.

Moreover, the error when connecting over SOCKS proxy with FTP and the failure when exiting with default configuration should no longer bother users.
