14 DAY TRIAL // WinRAR 5.0 Beta 6 has reached the web a few minutes ago, bringing several performance improvements and bug fixes for users who have already installed this testing built.
Beta 6 addresses a bug in recovery record generation in RAR 5.0 archive format, while also bringing a few other code optimizations.
“Under certain circumstances previous beta versions could produce wrong recovery record data, inefficient to repair a corrupt archive. Such invalid recovery record can be identified with ‘Test’ command, which issues ‘Recovery record is corrupt’ warning for it,” the developers explained in the release notes.
Just like all the other beta builds of WinRAR, beta 6 can be installed not only on Windows workstations, but also on Linux and Mac OS X computers.
