RARLab has come out with the second beta for version 4.10 of WinRAR archiver. Most of the issues it tackles wouldn't have affected the regular user, but an experienced one requiring more complicated archiving jobs appreciates them.

For instance, you can specify decimals when compressing into multiple volumes and for eliminating any confusion, the decimal mark being defined by Windows regional settings. This is also possible in command-line mode.

In the first beta of WinRAR 4.10, “Add” command would not allow the creation of a self-extracting archive via console, using WinCon.SFX module. This is now repaired.

Another issue present in the previous beta release was with “CD700” and “FAT32”, where predefined volume sizes did not work properly. This bug is also squashed.

There weren’t too many modifications and issues to repair, compared to the first beta, which can’t but lead us into believing that a final version of the application can’t be far into the future.
