South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is reportedly getting ready to release yet another smartphone, dubbed LG GM750 Layla. The new handset is expected to come to the market in a slim form factor, running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and packing a series of nice features inside.

Among them, we can count a 5-megapixel photo snapper that should sport German Schneider-Kreuznach optics and auto focus capabilities. At the same time, the upcoming LG GM750 Layla is also expected to feature the company's S-class user interface, which should fit great on top of the 6.5 flavor of Windows Mobile, as WMPoweruser states.

Other goodies the device should come with include a new feature supposedly called “Chat on the Map,” which should offer users the possibility to see the geographic location of their friends while chatting with them via the instant messaging. Wi-Fi, GPS and accelerometer should also be part of the package (the device has already received WiFi certification, rumors say).

It seems that the screen resolution of GM750's display is not known for sure at the moment, as LG’s XML file shows 400 x 240 pixels, just as the GM730, its predecessor, but there are also some who say it should come with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. We would rather go for the higher one, the kind most of the latest devices come with, but nothing is yet certain.

The 109.8 x 56.5 x 11.9 mm mobile phone is reportedly getting ready to be launched as soon as the third quarter of the ongoing year, which means that further details on it should surface in the near future. For the time being, the LG GM750 sounds like a quite nice Windows Mobile smartphone, yet we should wait for the launch date to get near to learn more pieces of information on its exact capabilities, as well as on the price and availability.
