In case you’re not entirely satisfied with Microsoft’s new Start button available in Windows 8.1 Preview, Win8Start is one of the apps that promise to make the OS much easier to use.

The application doesn’t provide too many options and what you see is what you get, so after installation, simply launch it and you’re good to go.

Win8Starter comes with drag and drop support, so it’s easy to add new apps to the menu, but also with shut down, restart, and lock options. The built-in search engine lets users quickly look for installed apps, so it doesn’t provide support for locally stored files.

The trial version doesn’t allow users to access settings, so if you’re looking for improved functionality, make sure you buy the full build.
