Once you’re seated comfortably (though F1 rides are anything but comfy) just enter the special Time Trial, race as fast as you can and post your best lap to see how you fare against other players.
“If yours is the fastest, you’ll win 2 VIP tickets to the F1 Grand Prix,” Gameloft says.
Updated yesterday to version 1.3.4, GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ also adds multiple new racing events, technical improvements and bug fixes.
The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2.1 or later.
For those who are mostly interested in the game itself, you get 31 manufacturers and 119 licensed cars to buy, drive and upgrade. These include the iconic Nissan GT-R, the Audi R8, the fanciest Ferrari models and even the Ford Model T.
The game uses an elaborate physics engine which assigns each car its real-life particularities, “for the most realistic driving simulation on the App Store.”
Players can tune their rides to maximize performance for each given track. Speaking of which, you’ll be able to zoom through official courses like Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, some well-known urban tracks, high speed rings and rally tracks.
