Microsoft is offering customers a chance to win some rather sweet prizes via a new contest built around Windows 7, including an HP Envy 15 laptop. The contest, hosted over at Toolbox for IT is designed to permit IT professionals to share Windows 7-related experiences from the workplace. Participants need nothing more than simply reveal a business related Windows 7 story on Windows @ Work Contest in order to be taken into consideration for the HP Envy 15.

“Submit an entry about your Windows 7 experiences and thoughts to the community. What are you looking forward to in Windows 7? Share a business or personal success, or cool and innovative feature. Your fellow community members will vote, so may the best story win,” revealed Microsoft Evangelist Keith Combs.

Windows @ Work Contest was kicked off at the start of this week, namely on November 23, 2009, and is set up to last until next year on February 23, 2010, at which point Microsoft will no longer accept any entries. The public can vote on entries during the entire time new participants are accepted. Microsoft will subsequently announce winners on March 8, 2010. As usual, entries are valid and taken into consideration solely from US citizens.

“In the enterprise, the role of the PC is evolving just as quickly as it is in the home. With Windows 7, IT professionals have more ways to help their people get more done-more securely and from more locations-while still maintaining control over increasingly complex computing environments,” Microsoft added.

There will be a First Place Winner which will be awarded an HP Envy 15 Laptop, estimated at $2,775, and two additional winners. The runner up will receive an HP Mini 311 Netbook ($580), while the bronze winner will get an Intel Second Generation 160GB SSD, worth some $500.
