Users have the chance to win a LaCie 5big Backup Server running Windows Home Server via a promotion from Intel, LaCie and HomeSeverLand.

And all they have to do is “Help detective Blue defeat Dr. Dim and the legion of inefficiencies,” as the official invitation on Win a Home Server reads.

The contest has been launched for a while now, but there is still plenty of time for users to enter and have a shot at walking away with a new Windows Home Server machine that packs quite a lot of storage, no less than 5TB.

A member of the Windows Home Server team noted that the sponsors are “running a five-week detective case, giving those that help Detective Blue defeat Dr. Dim a chance at winning their own home server and other goodies.

“The contest is a memory game where you have to match pairs of technology features in the least amount of time. After matching all the pairs you eliminate Dr. Dim and his old practices, and instead bring in a new intelligent and efficient agent, a home server with Intel inside.”

Unfortunately, the contest is opened only to users in the United States, with Intel handing out prizes to as many as five winners per week.

In addition to the LaCie 5big Backup Server ($999), prizes also include: NETGEAR Ready NAS Ultra 2, ($200), Thecus N4200ECO 4-Bay Nas Server ($700), Promise SmartStor NS4700 ($500), LG Electronics N4B2ND4 ($999).

“We are now in week four of the battle with Dr. Dim, and this time for your dedicated efforts you have a chance of winning a Windows Home Server powered LaCie 5big Backup Server with a massive 5TB of storage,” the Windows Home Server team representative added.

“Take a quick stab at the game, and we mean quick, every second counts…and don’t forget to share your scores with your friends on Facebook and/or Twitter for added bragging rights.”
