Google is a company that is continuously trying to attract new customers by luring them with new solutions, special offers or even prizes. AdSense is one of the more attractive solutions provided by Google but the service is more and more challenged by rival products developed by other companies. Although AdSense is very popular, having a huge number of registered client, the search giant is afraid of loosing users so it decided to send Christmas gifts to some of the customers that were currently using the service. Recently, Google launched a competition that is meant to attract coders from Latin America, offering R$75.000 (Brazilian reales) in prizes. Google Code Jam Latin America 2007 contest will test your programming skills for solving several problems and let you win cash and prizes. "Think you can compete with Latin America's top programmers? Here's your chance to prove it. Enter Google Code Jam Latin America 2007, a timed online competition between the region's most talented coders. Pick your programming language, use your coding skills to solve a series of problems, and compete for R$75,000 in prizes - and the respect of your peers," Google says about the contest. Today, the company's employees posted a message on the official blog to announce that there are only 5 days until the registration for the contest closes, so every programmer can register following this link. "There are only 5 days left until registration closes for Google Code Jam Latin America 2007. So far over 4,000 competitors have signed up for a chance to showcase their programming skills and win an all expenses paid trip to Google's Brazil engineering office, where they will compete for R$75,000 (Brazilian reales) in cash and prizes. The finals will be held on March 1. Latin Americans have registered in large numbers from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Ecuador as well as many other countries. The top 50 finalists will be flown to Belo Horizonte to show us what they've got," Berthier Ribeiro-Neto, Engineering Site Director, said in the blog post.
