Verizon’s 4G LTE customers who experience problems with connectivity in their areas will soon be able to take advantage of a new device aimed at providing them with better service coverage, the Sleek 4G-V from Wilson Electronics.

The new device is the first 4G mobile signal booster in the world, set to make a debut at the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas next week.

The new device is capable of ensuring a strong LTE signal in all areas where Verizon’s 4G LTE network is available, while also being capable of enhancing the 3G and 2G connectivity that users benefit from.

“Benefits include fewer dropped connections and no-service "dead zones," faster data transfer rates and improved battery life for wireless devices,” Wilson Electronics states.

The new device features a MSRP of $149.95 (115 Euros) and offers support for LTE, 3G and 2G networks on the 700 MHz, 800 MHz and 1900 MHz frequency bands.

The device was meant to be used in vehicles, but its use indoors should provide the same benefits. It comes with an optional accessory kit, which should prove of great help when it comes to boosting signal to 4G wireless hotspots like the Verizon JetPack.

"Verizon Wireless customers who use LTE-enabled phones and data devices can now enjoy the same benefits of Wilson boosters that others on 3G networks have long enjoyed," said Laine Matthews, Wilson's director of business development.

"For those troubled by a weak signal, the Sleek 4G-V provides a strong, reliable connection so they can connect with confidence."

Sleek 4G-V can easily amplify signal on 800 MHz and 1900 MHz bands in those areas where the Verizon 4G LTE network did not arrive as of yet.

The new device weighs only three ounces (85 grams) and measures 2.5 by 4.5 by 2.5 inches (6.4 x 11.4 6.4 cm). The Sleek 4G-V is set to become available for purchase in the second quarter of 2012 via most Wilson resellers.
