Square or circular smartwatches aren't really your thing? Well, maybe an intelligent timepiece with a curved display might be exactly what you need.

Of all people, the front man of popular music group The Black Eyed Peas has just the thing for you. As we were telling you a few days ago, the time has finally come for will.i.am to launch its own smartwatch into the wild.

The device has been in the pipeline for several months, but as of this week it is an official product. It’s called Puls and has been designed to be a competitor for the Samsung Gear S.

The Samsung Gear S or the Puls?

The two smartwatches have something more in common except the curved display, because the Puls comes equipped with 3G capabilities that allow users to place phone calls over the Internet without the need to pair it with a smartphone.

The watch also adorns GPS, step counting and offers access to social media among other stuff. Basically, the Puls can be used as a watch, fitness tracker or smartphone.

The watch has its own music player and can set alarms and connected to popular social media apps like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or Salesforce plus other apps.

Interestingly enough, a few days ago we told you we were expecting the watch to come equipped with a brand new music service, but sadly the press release and related information don't make any mention regarding this aspect.

Puls looks like a stylish bracelet

Thanks to its curved display, the watch looks more like a bracelet of sorts, so it can be considered more stylish than most smartwatches on the market. will.i.am will be offering the wearable in a choice of blue, white, pink, red or gold. And when we say gold, we mean really gold with diamonds and stuff.

As for internal specs, the watch draws life from a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the 3G connection will come about curtsey of AT&T.

Apparently, the watch runs a forked version of Android, so it does not take advantage of Android Wear.

While the wearable looks interesting enough, we don’t have any information about the actual release date or price, so we can’t make a comparison to see how it stacks up against the competition such as the Samsung Gear S.

will.i.am is apparently quite a big fan of wearables and we should expect many more products from this category to come out of his company, called i.am+ like a backpack with speakers, shoes with step counters and a jacket that can double as a battery pack for the Puls watch.
