It was only a matter of time before Daniel Craig, a man who was once dubbed the "anti-Bond", brought the revolution started by his new, rougher, more violent version of the sleek secret agent into all the corners of Bond-land. And, when I say revolution, I mean a change of attitude and perspective that has taken over the conservative world of the Bond franchise, brought about by the one man who was once seen as not having any of the trademark Bond features, only to prove the must successful 007 in history. And since the first steps towards innovation have already been taken, how about a little nudity to make it all even more interesting?
Daniel Craig apparently feels that it's only fair for him to "go totally nude" for the next movie in the series, and claims that he's not doing it for publicity or because he's a narcissist, but because all the Bond girls are expected to strip - so why not the
men? Well put, indeed. It is a question I've been thinking about a lot ever since the time when Sean Connery was playing the lead role. And let me say this, it would not be such a bad idea. "I'd go totally nude" Craig said. "I've got nothing to hide, and after all, we ask the girls to reveal almost all, so why not the men?" Nothing to hide? Well, that's probably the best piece of news I've heard in quite a while (insert your best evil grin here).
It seems, however, that Craig is only human, after all. The actor admits that he felt "nervous" when he realized that the Casino Royale scene, in which he emerges from the water in the Bahamas, dressed in tight light-blue swimming trunks, would cause such a stir. "Did I know the trunk thing would be such a big deal? Yeah. I saw it on a huge billboard in Hollywood and people were screaming. It did make me feel rather nervous". Well, it certainly didn't make me feel nervous at all - and I could pretty much swear the same thing is true for about 10 of my girlfriends. So, as I was saying, I'm not complaining, but looking forward to seeing Daniel in the buff. And then we'll talk some more.
