Will Smith to Literally Become "A Legend"

A new action movie from Warner Bros. is being planned. "I Am Legend" is its title and Will Smith has already signed the contract for starring in the movie.

The film is based on a novel by Richard Matheson. The story takes place in the usual science-fiction scenery. A post-apocalyptic New York is the environment in which there is only one healthy man left, after the release of a virus that decimated the entire city population. The "Prince Charming" is, of course, supposed to pass certain tests. In order for him to survive and to help the others (if any!) to survive too, he'll have to fight monsters and mutants, the bad characters that cause all kinds of damages during the night.

So it seems like we have the classical script of a modern fairy tale. As you probably already thought, Will Smith will be starring as the modern Prince Charming, savior of what's left to be saved from the destroyed city.

The movie's director will be Francis Lawrence, who also made "Constantine". The script will be taken care of by Akiva Goldsman, who has good enough references for penning the script for fashionable "The Da Vinci Code". As for Will Smith, he will definitely be the star.

And he will probably do a good job, if we only take into account that he took part in several other very similar productions - take "Independence Day" for example.

Production will start next year in pre-apocalyptic New York.
