Male reporter tries to get touchy-feely with star, he's having none of it

There is such a thing as too much love and affection, as actor Will Smith found out the hard way, on the red carpet of “Men in Black 3” at the film's premiere in Russia. He slapped a male reporter for trying to kiss him.

The incident was caught on camera and you can see a video of it below, embedded at the end of the article.

The actor, who resumes his iconic part in “Men in Black” next to Tommy Lee Jones and new additions to the cast, was in Moscow, greeting reporters and fans on the red carpet.

As you can very well see in the clip below, one male reporter – who hailed from Ukraine, TMZ notes – tried to kiss Will and he instantly reacted.

After pushing him away from him, the actor slapped him lightly across the face.

In this particular case, voices online are saying, Smith showed restraint because another in his place might have reacted more violently, especially given how out of line the reporter's gesture was.

Will too seemed aware of that, telling the cameras afterwards that the guy was “lucky [he] didn't sucker punch him.” He also joked about how he shouldn't have said that on camera.

TMZ spoke to some of the people present on the red carpet and learned that, to a certain extent, Smith's reaction had been justified: the reporter really did cross the line by grabbing him and trying to steal a kiss from him – quite literally.

“A source on scene tells TMZ, the reporter's mouth brushed up against Will's and that's why the actor reacted so violently. Despite the incident, Will stayed positive... and happily continued to sign autographs for fans and do red carpet interviews,” the celebrity e-zine writes.

Indeed, the video shows the actor tried his best to restrain himself after the incident, as upsetting as it might have been.

Check it out below and let us know what you make of it: did Will Smith react appropriately or did he too cross the line?
