In August this year, various reports were saying that Will Smith and his wife of 13 years Jada Pinkett Smith were having so many issues with their marriage that they'd decided to pull the plug on it. The two denied the reports at the time, but they're now coming back with redoubled strength. The latest issue of Star magazine claims that the two A-listers have been working on the marriage since this summer, but have realized just recently that there's no saving their union,
Hollywood Life informs.
At the time the first reports got out in the media, they were already living separately and fighting almost constantly.
Nothing has improved since then, unnamed sources are quoted as saying. If anything,
things have only gotten worse, so much worse that both Will and Jada are determined to file for divorce as soon as possible.
“They’ve been faking it for a long time and they don’t want to live a lie anymore. Living and sleeping separately – and now Will finally walking out on Jada – have pushed them to their limit. They’re done,” says one spy.
They could and would have filed divorce papers this summer, the insider further dishes, but they refrained from doing so because they feared it would hurt their careers. So they just gave marriage another try and they continued to keep up appearances of a happy couple.
“They’ve been trying to work through it, but things came to a head in early November, when they got into a huge knock-down, drag-out fight. They put up a good front in public, but behind doors they really fight like cats and dogs. They’ve always had issues in their relationship, and now they’re bubbling to the surface,” the spy says.
Since November, Will and Jada have been practically living as strangers, with Will often choosing to travel abroad to avoid spending time in the same room with his wife, it is further alleged.
“He’s barely speaking to Jada as it is. But when they fight, he’ll storm out and go off to spend time with his guy friends. He and Jada are living separate lives,” the insider claims.
The first time reports of an imminent divorce started making the rounds, Will and Jada issued a denial and threatened to sue the tabloids that, they said, had made up the story. So far, they haven't said anything on the latest allegations.
