Will Britney Apologize for VMA Disaster?

Will the apologizing route go for Britney? Who can tell...

I have to say, I wasn't expecting that. Really. And I also have to say the idea of Britney going live on Emmy night apologizing for her disastrous VMA performance leaves me breathless with...I can't even say with what...a mixture of feelings, probably, among which curiosity (at what she might say), terror (at the fact that she could make a fool of herself again) and more curiosity. I think someone in her entourage must have done some hard thinking to come up with this idea - even better, I'm willing to bet she hired that crying "leave Britney alone" guy to make the PR decisions for her, he seems to understand best what she's all about.

But unfortunately, it's not a joke. A source familiar with the Emmy Awards show preparations has stated that the people at the Fox network are in negotiations with the Britster. It's not clear exactly what her appearance would consist of - but the source has stated that "the idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMAs. She's weighing the offer".

If this goes down and Britney gets the green light, this is going to be extremely interesting, especially the speech she is going to give (and by the way, who would write that - probably her lawyer, just to be on the safe side). I mean, the Emmys are a separate business from the MTV altogether, complete with a totally different atmosphere, attitudes and mentalities. Britney would better think twice about what she intends to do and say there, because she will (if allowed) be stepping into a totally new world, not to mention addressing a different type of TV viewers.

Just imagine. No late arrivals, looking clean, probably having to wear a dress, a strict stylist to prevent bad fashion and hair choices, no booze and no pills to take before the show. Nah, I don't think she'll do it. She must think it's just so restrictive and boring... And just like with the MTV, people who would not normally watch the show would also tune in, just to keep an eye out for Britney and pray for her dress to fall off or something. I think this Sunday, like the last, is going to be a very interesting one - and we'll bring you all the news, so stay tuned for more.
