Developer Carbine announces that Wildstar's next major content update, titled Sabotage, will introduce a ton of player versus player options to the game, including a 15-on-15 battleground arena.

The massively multiplayer online role-playing game came out at the start of June, and it's been seeing a lot of attention.

A good start is crucial to an MMO's long-term health, and Carbine seems determined not to let anyone catch a breath, with the upcoming second major content patch on its way.

Sabotage is slated for release later this month, and includes new airstrike and explosive options, as well as mounts, in the massive new battleground arena of Daggerstone Pass.

Within the new arena, only accessible to players that hit level 30 on their characters, the objective is to capture and hold certain key points, which will contribute to damaging the opposing team's main base.

Bombs will be randomly spawned near the bases and can be used for all kinds of things, provided you are fleet footed enough and already have a pretty good notion of what you're going to do with them – they begin ticking down as soon as they are picked up.

Cooperation and communication are paramount to success in Daggerstone Pass, and striking the perfect balance between offense and defending the bases you already control will be a pivotal element of attaining victory.

The expansions comes with a slew of new achievements and rewards, as well as 10 new Exile and Dominion-themed housing items.

According to developer Carbine, the content offered with Sabotage showcased the studio's commitment to evolve its systems and gameplay mechanics into something that is always challenging and exciting.

The presentation video released alongside the announcement uses the same patented humor-laden approach that the company utilized to tease the endless features of Wildstar before the game's launch.

Wildstar is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place on Planet Nexus, a fictional place where a mysterious ancient race known as the Eldan once resided, leaving behind a wealthy cache of technology for players to explore, exploit and fight over.

Development started a few years back, with a team made of former Blizzard Entertainment devs that worked on World of Warcraft and that wanted to do something different, to start over without making the same mistakes and to use their knowledge to make a better game.

The game came out on June 3, 2014, and got off to a pretty good start, which Carbine is determined to capitalize on, as the company already outlined the breadth of features it will add to the game over the course of its first year of life.
