Carbine is preparing for the launch of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Wildstar next week, and, to kick things off, it has released a new trailer showcasing some of the features of the upcoming title, such as exploding dragons.

The company has done a very good job of spreading the news about the many, many features in their game over the course of the development process, detailing the many new things that the game is bringing to the MMO sphere.

One of the exciting additions to the game, compared to the current king of MMORPGs, Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft, is an interesting take on action combat, where all the actions, both from players and monsters, are telegraphed in a very meaningful manner, allowing you to get out of the way of various nasty effects and dodge incoming attacks.

In addition to this, the movement system itself is pretty interesting, with double jumping and sprinting your way through the game world being the norm.

The amount of personalization options in Wildstar is mind-boggling, from the character creation screen to the extensive options afforded to players through the in-game housing system, which was even utilized by a user in order to create the world's first fully functional in-game skatepark.

The player housing system is a whole game by itself, permitting players to customize everything, limited solely by their imagination, in achieving the goal of having the ultimate space crib.

The game also has a varied array of options available for all kinds of MMO players, from lone wolves to those who thrive when there is an active community around them, and it offers a wealth of both PvE and PvP content, accommodating every possible taste, from dungeon crawling to high-end arena play.

In addition to this, the game's adventure mode further switches things up by introducing a ton of cross-genre mechanics for players to explore in custom encounters, and the massive Warplots combine furious 40v40 player-versus-player clashes with base building mini-games.

Furthermore, the entire journey through the world of Wildstar is peppered with humorous references and all manner of silly references and Easter eggs.

Wildstar is coming out on June 3 worldwide, and pre-orders are open on the Wildstar website, netting those who choose to adopt early exclusive access to the game on Saturday, May 31, three full days before the launch.

That means a head start, and we all know how important it is not to have to stalk your quest mobs along with 20 other players casually camping around you.
