Developer Carbine Studios and publisher NCsoft have announced the release date of their highly anticipated MMO WildStar, set to reach the masses on June 3.

The upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game WildStar has been in the making for some time now, being first unveiled at Gamescom in August 2011. Once out, players will be able to enjoy its action combat system, allowing them to double jump, sprint and dodge, while delivering powerful aimed abilities in order to take down their foes.

Apart from taking a step sideways from the usual tab-targeted combat found in the majority of MMORPGs, WildStar will also feature a ton of cross-genre mechanics, as shown in the Carbine DevSpeak video detailing the upcoming Adventures.

WildStar will be available in two editions, the run of the mill standard one, going for $60 / €43 and the all shiny and premium deluxe one, which will retail for $75 / €54.

The standard edition will come with 30 days of play time, three seven-day passes for guests and an Eldan housing decor item.

The deluxe edition will include more pieces of unique Eldan-themed content, among which a hoverboard, a costume, a title and a dye set for in-game armor. The deluxe edition will be available both digitally and in a Steelbook case at retail.

Players with the Standard Edition will be able to retroactively upgrade their game to the Digital Deluxe version through the WildStar online store.

Furthermore, publisher NCsoft will also open pre-orders for WildStar in one week, starting on March 19. The pre-order bonuses are the same for both the standard and the deluxe edition of the game, consisting of an exclusive rocket house, a housing decoration, increased inventory space and an exclusive in-game title.

Additionally, pre-order customers will also receive exclusive access to several closed and open beta events, and they'll be granted access to the game a little earlier, being able to play it starting May 31, which is three days before its public launch.

Prospective buyers should take heed that WildStar requires a monthly subscription fee of $15 / €11 after the initial free month of access that comes with the game purchase, and that subscription plans drive down the cost if players buy time in three-, six- or twelve-month increments.

Additionally, Carbine Studios has also implemented a way for players to buy playtime with in-game currency, similar to how other massively multiplayer online games such as EVE Online allow.

WildStar is currently in development for PC, and it will launch worldwide on June 3. For additional information on the game, you can visit the official WildStar website.
