Wildlife workers in Dartmoor, Devon have recently stumbled upon a wild goose which was in dire need of medical attention following its being shot with a crossbow.

Although the arrow had pierced the bird's entire body, the veterinarians who took care of removing it argued that no vital organs had been hit.

“The arrow went through its body just behind the legs and the tip came out the other side, just missing its ribcage and the vital organs. We gave it an X-ray, antibiotics and painkillers and stitched it up,” veterinarian Ulrika Hoffman-Johnson reportedly said.

According to Daily Mail, the goose is currently recovering at an RSPCA facility in Taunton, Somerset.

Its caretakers suspect that it will soon make a full recovery and that they will be able to release it back in the wild.
