The launch should happen very soon, in the next few days maybe

Razer's Fiona Gamepad Tablet is not the only gaming slate that the world is acquainted with. There are two others, both made by Wikipad and called Wikipad 10 and Wikipad 7.

Or rather they will be called that as soon as they are released. Which they have not been. The 10-inch slate was delayed a while back, and the 7-inch model, which will precede it, hasn't come out either.

Fortunately, the Wikipad 7 is supposed to debut by the end of spring, which suggests that it will arrive over the next few days.

In the meanwhile, we can use the FCC filing to tidy us over, and another rehashing of the specifications.

The Federal Communications Commission tests every device with wireless capabilities which is bound for the United States market. The 7-inch Wikipad passed the tests a very short time ago.

It is a tablet that has integrated gamepad-type controls on both sides of the screen.

Although that's not entirely accurate. The tablet isn't fused to the rest. It can be taken out, which makes the controller more of a dock really.

Speaking of which, the IPS LCD has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, plus capacitive multi-touch technology (supports 5-point gesture) and scratch resistance.

Moving on, the device has Dual-band WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, 16 GB of storage space, a microSD card slot (up to 32 extra gigabytes) and 1 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory).

The Wikipad 7 also gets a 2-megapixel camera (on the front), GPS, a gyroscope, a compass, and an accelerometer.

Everything is handled by NVIDIA's Tegra 3 SoC (system-on-chip) and runs on the energy provided by a 4100 mAh battery.

Finally, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is installed on it. We suspect it will eventually be updated to 4.2, and whatever version of the OS comes after. The price will be of around $250 / €193 – 250.
