Wii hosted parties

Who says a party is all about wasting yourself listening to music until you go deaf? You can do it the more innocent and environmentally friendly way by just inviting your friends over for a good time of wiimote swinging.

It didn't take long for a bunch of guys in suburban Chicago to rig their basement with all the accessories needed to make it a room exclusive for playing on
the Wii. The initiator didn't "initially" like playing games, but as soon as he got himself a Nintendo Wii he was hooked.

The idea of Wii playing parties has been growing ever since the console's release as more and more people discovered that it's a lot of fun and it helps them to socialize better with friends and even their own families. So it looks like the Wii's presence in one's home is a beneficial one, helping a person spend more quality time with their loved ones, when all we hear is that technology makes us more and more independent and keeps us from socializing the more traditional way.

All we hear about video games nowadays is that they're harmful and addictive, when they're clearly better than that and the Wii is a good reminder of it. Some have even organized contests within their gaming communities using the Wii platform as a ring to battle it out.

Whether the game-party is hosted in the basement, living-room or even the back yard, it makes no difference as long as you and your friends have a good time. Just keep it friendly now, and don't throw the controller at your guests if they beat you.
