Wii 1-Sony 0

I guess Nintendo's Wii is much better than the PS3 from several points of view. Nintendo seems much more reliable than Sony as regarding the number of next-gen consoles of day one, as they will deliver over 400,000 units on launch day in Japan.

Compared with Sony's 80,000 PS3, Nintendo's day one target seems crushing but who knows if they will announce any launch target cutback until December 2 (the exact date for the Japanese Wii launch). But first, we will have to wait and see if all goes well with the Wii U.S. launch scheduled on November 19. Wow, just a few days away!

In fact, looks like Nintendo is focusing more on the US market than on the Japanese one. I guess they already have Japan in their back pocket, right? Nintendo also promises to ship over 4 million units worldwide by the end of 2006.

The Nintendo Wii is also much cheaper than the Sony PS3, but truth be told; it also has much less features. Just yesterday came the news that the original version of Wii will not have DVD support and that Nintendo plans to release a DVD supporting version later on, most probably in the second half of 2007.
